The National Research Institute for Transportation Innovation at Tel Aviv University, in collaboration with the EcoMotion Community and the Fuel Choices Initiative, is announcing and inviting applications for the 4th batch of the Smart Transportation Accelerator.

 

The projects accepted into the program will gain exposure to a variety of experts, companies, investors, mentors and leaders in the transportation industry. They will also receive funding to develop their products, professional services and work space, as well as support for the creation of new partnerships.

Each project will receive up to 100,000 NIS for its activities and will not be charged any fees or a percentage from future project earnings. The funds are to be used to purchase equipment, services, travel to conferences and meetings, marketing expenses and site construction, according to an approved budget and work plan. The funds are not to be used to cover payroll expenses.

 

The Accelerator is located in Porter Building, home to the School of Environmental Studies. Each project will receive a portion of a work space. The work will be primarily independent, specific to the project plan with a weekly shared day lead by the program administrator. Each group will present   its progress, problems and current needs, and benefits from an enrichment lecture.

Admission Process

From the proposals submitted through this website, it is expected that 10 to 15 will be selected for presentation to a panel of external judges. A week before that event, the final teams will be invited to a presentation workshop. 5 to 7 projects will be chosen for the program. See exact schedule here.

 

Who Can Apply

The program accepts 5-7 projects each batch with selection focused on entrepreneurship that meets the following criteria:

1.  Potential domestic and global impact.

2. No prior funding (possible exceptions with maximum of 500,000 NIS raised).

3. Potential to raise funds.

4. Commitment of at least one of the project entrepreneurs to invest all of his/her time in the program 

 

The Process

Our objective is to hold a fair and impartial selection process, based on professional criteria.  However, the selection process is not a tender, so the rules pertaining to tenders do not apply.

Groups that choose to participate in the program are asked to sign our Accelerator Agreement, which details the rights and obligations of the Accelerator and the selected groups, and supersedes any information provided on this website or otherwise.

We reserve our right to amend the terms of admission, participation and any other terms of the process and the program.
